From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A coin is a piece of hard material that is standardized in weight, is produced in large quantities in order to facilitate trade, and primarily can be used as a legal tender token for commerce in the designated country, region, or territory. Coins are usually metal or a metallic material and sometimes made of synthetic materials, usually in the shape of a disc, and most often issued by a government. Coins are used as a form of money in transactions of various kinds, from the everyday circulation coins to the storage of large numbers of bullion coins. In the present day, coins and banknotes make up the cash forms of all modern money systems. Coins made for paying bills and general monetized use are usually used for lower-valued units, and banknotes for the higher values; also, in most money systems, the highest value coin made for circulation is worth less than the lowest-value note. The face value of circulation coins is usually higher than the gross value of the metal used in making them, but this is not generally the case with historical circulation coins made of precious metals. Exceptions to the rule of coin face-value being higher than content value, also occur for some "bullion coins" made of silver or gold (and, rarely, other metals, such as platinum or palladium), intended for collectors or investors in precious metals. Examples of modern gold collector/investor coins include the American Gold Eagle minted by the United States, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf minted by Canada, and the Krugerrand, minted by South Africa. The American Gold Eagle has a face value of US$50, and the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins also have nominal (purely symbolic) face values (e.g., C$50 for 1 oz.); but the Krugerrand does not. Historically, a great number of coinage metals (including alloys) and other materials have been used practically, artistically, and experimentally in the production of coins for circulation, collection, and metal investment, where bullion coins often serve as more convenient stores of assured metal quantity and purity than other bullion. Coins have long been linked to the concept of money, as reflected by the fact that in other languages the words "coin" and "currency" are synonymous. Fictional currencies may also bear the name coin (as such, an item may be said to be worth 123 coin or 123 coins). From Wikipedia under the

But the more experience level points you get as well as coins you get more farmville dollars. So you have to go up levels and harvest to get more cash. Here are good cheats to get more farmville cash by getting experience level points quick: Answered by NinaR - Thu Sep 17 10:29:00 2009 What would you use to clean coins safely? Q. I want to know what natural product can you use to clean the guck off of coins without hurting the value of the coins. I collect coins, so I wanted to know if there's anyway to remove the guck with- out hurting the coin. Asked by cross-stitcher - Sun May 10 21:21:40 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. Most coin collectors prefer a reasonable amount of dirt to a cleaned coin. I would never use an acid or abrasive (vinegar, baking soda Coca-Cola, Oxyclean, toothpaste, etc.) to clean a coin. Those may clean the surface, but they generally decrease or destroy the value of a coin. In extreme cases, I would use acetone (please be careful) to quickly remove some "dirt," and a long soak in olive oil can work wonders on things like "guck." Be sure to thoroughly wash these off with a mild soap and water, and immediately dry completely with a soft cloth. I hope this helps. Answered by liberty 911 - Mon May 11 16:52:16 2009 What happens to those foreign coins you get in change?
Q. You know when you have a pocket full of change you sometimes get coins fron Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Fiji, etc., usually if they are the same size as local coins I just hide them under another coin when I buy a newspaper, but what happens at the bank, there must be millions of foreign coins circulating like that, are actually legal tender? Asked by smack that rooster - Sun Feb 7 01:40:42 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. I would suppose the vast majority get recirculated even by businesses whether knowingly or unknowingly. It is likely an identically sized foreign coin could pass through several hands unnoticed. Many might get donated to charities who accept foreign coins, but there are probably very few returned to their country of origin through circulation. Even coin types taken out of circulation can be found decades later. In a side note, we might all be surprised how many foreign, proof, silver, and other collectible coins get into circulation from children or others stealing them from a collection and spending them. I myself have found proof and silver coins, and foreign coins from Canada, Germany, Panama, and Sweden, among other places.
