Euro sign.....?
Q. Would somebody please help this computer illiterate ? I have a pretty awful HP Pavilion computer and an even worse Windows Vista (Premium). Bring back XP or even 98, I say. Now, my query is this : on the keyboard, on key 5, I have a % sign above the number 5 ; and to the right of 5 there is this Euro sign ( you know, like a capital C with two short horizontal lines in the middle making it look like an E). Cutting a long-winded and boring question sideways, could somebody p-l-e-a-s-e tell me how I can type/print the Euro sign? I thank you all in anticipation for being so sympathetic and understanding about my ignorance -- believe me, it is greatly appreciated.

A. try pressing the "alt gr"-key (the key directly to the right of the space bar) and then while holding it press the 5-key - it's used similar to the shift-key.

A. Yes, We have the dollar sign on the 4 and the Euro sign, To get the dollar you just press shift+4 and to get the euro you press alt gr+4. Although, not all European keyboards are the same on the location numbers and letters. It depends on the language, eg. Ireland and England have near to the same Keyboard as the US but France have a totally different one etc. = )

Q. I need to make a euro and peso sign in C++ using cout<<(char); what are the numbers?
Asked by Fable - Wed Feb 17 13:16:24 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. There is no ASCII code for Euro or the Peso, as the Euro is a relatively recent symbol (I don't know the reason for the Peso). There is a UNICODE and a Multi-Byte version that you may be able to use, depending on what compiler, what operating system, what patches, what code pages, etc. you are using. For the Euro, hold own ALT and then type 0128 on your number pad (must be the number pad) and you should get a Euro character. Whether or not that prints... well, let's just hope it does. You can try using '\u20B1' for the peso. This is the escape code for a the PESO character in UNICODE. I don't think it'll work in ansi, though. No problem in UNICODE but you're obviously not using UNICODE because you are trying to output chars. … [cont.]

What is the best way to get the sign for the euro for typing on the computer?
Q. For example, if I wanted to type an e with an accent aigu without altering the keyboard setup, I could press the Alt key at the same time as the number 130. If I wanted to type an e with an accent grave, I could type the numbers 138 while holding down the Alt key, and if I wanted to type a cedille, I could press down the Alt key along with the numbers 135. What kind of number configuration would give me the euro? I know that a is 155, a is 156 and a is 157.

A. FACTS = the sign for "pounds." Pounds (and pence) are the official currency of the United Kingdom (just like we have dollars and cents in the U.S.) = the sign for euros. The site I go to for currency conversion is: Currently: 1 = $1.48007, or, $1 = $0.675377 (so 1 dollar is about 68 "euro-cents"). One must also remember that when converting currency, he or she will pay a percentage for the exchange, so you would actually get less than the exchange rate listed here. why is this exchange rate so weak? It's unfortunate that the current Presidental administration has seemed to advocate a "weak dollar policy" that has driven down the value of the dollar in relation to other golbal currencies (like the Euro). Incidentally, the… [cont.]

A. Most Keyboards I have used do not have the Euro sign, but they do all have the dollar sign. But that may be because we Dutch prefer to have an American Keyboard to most European layouts. That is also because the American keyboards are much cheaper to get, but that is not the only reason. And I hate the French Keyboards, always hit the wrong keys when I have to use one of those.
