How much are the 10 deutsche mark Commemorative Coins worth?
Q. A friend of a friend is trying to sell this to me and we are looking for a fair price. Its a 1994 coin.
Asked by Josh S - Sat Jul 4 16:17:25 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. There are 2 one is the 1994-A "attempt on Hitler's life" book value $7 in uncirculated and $9 in brilliant uncirculated. There are also proofs valued at $20. The 1994-G commemorates the aniversary of Johann Gottfried. It is valued at the same as the other one $7 & $9. The proof however is valued at only $12. The on that is more historic is the Hitler life one and I bet getting $10 or more for it would be easy. The other one may be a hard sell and go for $5 or $6. neither one is rare they both have mintages of 7,450,000 only the proofs are some what scarce at 450,000 but that is also a high mintage. Hope this helps.

How much Deutsche Mark(money) and resources do you think Germany used gathering, executing, feeding, etc...?
Q. Jews during World War II and do you think if they rerouted those resources to fighting the war that they could have won?
Asked by Vinh H - Sat Nov 14 15:36:06 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I have no interest in how they could have won the war. They were horrifyingly efficient as it was. It wasn't because of money or resources that they lost. It was the Russian army that made the difference.

I have a 100 Hundert Deutsche Mark banknote from 1960 in good condition. What is it worth in US currency?
Q. There's an eagle on the back with wings spread, head turned to the left, and an older man on front with strange hat on, his head turned left.
Asked by twitch - Wed May 6 17:29:56 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. That note is still redeemable, but only at certain banks in Germany. You would get about US$67.92 for it. It would sell on eBay as a collectible for between $60 and $80, depending on condition.

can you still exchange a German Deutsche Mark for US dollars?
Q. The German Mark is the year 1923
Asked by Starlene b - Sat Sep 22 17:52:30 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Firstly, if it was a bill from the year 1923, the currency would be German "Reichsmark"...and well, as YOU probably know (some others apparently ignore that), 1923 was the year of hyperinflation... so a simple roll was like 50 million Reichsmark in the morning and probably 70 million in the evening... But if you find someone naive enough to make that deal, tell me about it, I still have a 50 million Reichsmark bill and I d be willing to accept an exchange rate at hmm... let s say 1000RM to a dollar... I know, I m just too generous as the dollar is currently so low :-P

Why does the Deutsche Mark still have a floating exchange rate ?
Q. like: we don`t use the DM anymore so why is the exchange rate still changing ?, thanks :-)
Asked by Craig - Fri Apr 23 08:45:21 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The DM is linked at a fixed rate to the Euro, which has a floating exchange rate. Therefore, the DM floats in unison with the Euro.

A. That would be difficult, because the "Deutsche Mark" was replaced some years ago with the "Euro" :-) You may get some on ebay or the german state banks, but you can't pay with it anymore!

A. The Deutsche Mark notes can only be exchanged at the Federal Bank (Bundesbanken) or at the State Central Bank (Landeszentralbanken) since 3/1/2002, Local banks are not accepting DM anymore. The exchange rate is 1.95583, DM100 = Euro 51.13

Q. whats a 1977 west germany 20 deutsche mark worth in U.S. dollars ?
Asked by angeleyez - Mon Sep 3 21:14:13 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. in generell it would be the best to take these 20 marks as a historical artefact. Because you only could change them in Germany at the "Bundesbank" (means the central bank of Germany). But to answer your question, the marks were changed by a rate of 1 Euro = 1,95583 marks. Therfore your 20 marks are 10,23 Euro and the fx rate of USD to Euro will be 1,36 USD = 1 Euro. Your 20 marks will be approx. 13,91 USD But in the future there will be maybe a historical value of these 20 marks of more than 20 USD ;-)

1980 Deutsche Mark?
Q. Pretty good condition, is it worth anything? Its a 1 deutsche mark.
Asked by artichokeyfgg - Sat Sep 8 19:39:18 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Value depends largely on the condition of the coin. Your best bet would be to take your coin to a local coin dealer. They will be able to tell you more by evaluating the condition of the coin. They will also know the amount minted and what it is going for in today's market. You can also post pictures on this website (there are many coin experts here that can help you evaluate it - there also may be people willing to buy if you are trying to sell): Good luck!

A. They are easily worth more than face value to a collector or a museum. I'd get them valued first by a curator. Then I'd sell to the private sector.

How much is this coin worth?
Q. Its and old 1941 deutsche mark it has the Nazi symbol. Its in the condition i found it i have not cleaned it at all I heard that would take away some of its value so I was wondering what it is worth?
Asked by Ashlyn - Sun Aug 1 00:17:10 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Something is wrong with your description. There were no Reich marks minted in 1941. On the coin is Deutsches Reich one one side and the denomination is usually on the other and is say a Reich pfennig or a Reich mark. I need more info to give a value. Due to the war the Reich marks were paper money in 1941 they stopped in 1939.

How much money can I get for these old coins?
Q. I was looking through my coin collection and I found several old coins and I have no clue if they're worth anything. They're in pretty good condition. Canadian - 1 cent - 1932 U.S. - 1 penny - 1941 Deutschland (german) - 1 cent - 1950 Deutsche Mark (german) - 1 - 1950 Deutschland (german) - 10 - 1950 Russian - 15 - 1955 Netherlands - 25 cents - 1956 Russian - 10 - 1957 Russian - 5 - 1959 (this one has a hole in it)
Asked by catfight_007 - Wed Jul 11 17:39:43 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. They are not worth much I'm afraid, just like others have suggested above. The Canadian 1932 cent has a mintage of 21,316,190 and is not rare. Value for it is about $1 in average to nice circulated. The US cent is also a common date and although it's over 65 years old the date is commonly found in dealer's mixed cents bin for under 10 cents each in average circulated grades. The German 1950 dated 1, 10 pfenning and 1 D.Mark are worth several dollars if in nice circulated with luster, and sell better in Germany. The Russian 15, 10 and 5 coins are kopeks, and they too are common because the Soviet Union, the former name for CIS Russia, was a big country and mintages for coins were extremely high. Other than belonging to the Cold War period… [cont.]

How to get the highest sales price for a few German gold coins in New York City (Manhattan)?
Q. I own 5 coins. They are each 20 Deutsche Reich Mark, dated 1913, 1913, 1893, 1904 and 1912. What's the approximate value?
Asked by Christian S - Wed Aug 23 20:40:03 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I believe, (off the top of my head), that these coins are about 1/5 ounce gold. They are, however, somewhat scarcer than other European gold coins. I would take them to a larger coin dealer, (R.M. Smythe is in manhattan I believe, they are very old and prestigious). They would give you fair value immediately. Items like this, though, sell well on Ebay and you may make more there. To get more details about the coin, I would look at World Coins and their values, and look the coins up. Many libraries will have this book, as well as many large bookstores, (not that I am telling you to just use a book in a bookstore...).
